All general Forsyth County government offices closed Friday at 3 p.m. due to current weather conditions that call for rain and sleet before snow comes in about 9 p.m.

“This early closure includes county government offices, the Forsyth County Courthouse and Courthouse Annex, the Animal Shelter, recycling convenience centers, Senior Services and Forsyth County Parks and Recreation’s indoor and gated facilities,” said Jodi Gardner, spokeswoman for the county government, in a news release. “All Parks and Recreation program and activities are canceled.”

The county’s parks and recreation indoor and gated facilities, the recycling convenience centers and the animal shelter will be closed Saturday and Sunday, and all county public programs and activities are also canceled for the weekend.

Forsyth County School followed and early release schedule Friday in anticipation of the incoming winter storm.
