Forsyth County’s newest state lawmaker was sworn into office last week and began his first term during the first session of the 154th Georgia General Assembly.
State Rep. Todd Jones, a south Forsyth resident who serves District 25, took his oath of office on Monday, Jan. 9, which was the first day of the first term of the 154th Legislative Session in Georgia.
“I am ready to hit the ground running,” Jones said. “For nearly a year now, I have been lucky enough to work closely with my predecessor, Mike Dudgeon, in order to prepare myself to really get to work on legislative Day 1.”
Jones won the state position unopposed in November after winning the Republican primary early last year. District 25 covers south Forsyth and north Fulton.
In his first move as state representative, the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments named Jones to the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight, the Economic Development and Tourism and the Industry and Labor committees.
