Forsyth County will receive several intersection improvements for state routes.

The Georgia Department of Transportation recently announced Forsyth County was among several in the state to have bids granted for improvements and will receive traffic signal improvements on Ga. 400 and Atlanta Highway (Hwy. 9).

North Cherokee Electrical Inc. of Canton was awarded the bid for $1,226,925.90.

Included in the work is concrete, steel structures and highway signs, and the project is estimated to be completed by Nov. 30.

The local contract was one of 25 awarded across the state worth a total of more than $54 million.
