FORSYTH COUNTY -- The long holiday weekend that saw residents celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah was quiet for law enforcement and firefighters, officials said.
Neither the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office nor the Forsyth County Fire Department responded to any major incidents over the weekend, which ran from Friday, Dec. 23 to Monday night.
“There were no fatal accidents, and not even any serious injuries that were called out,” Forsyth County Sheriff’s Cpl. Pete Sabella said Tuesday.
Numbers for how many arrests were made could not be pulled Tuesday due to the county observing the Christmas holiday on Monday and Tuesday.
The fire department responded to one accident where a person was entrapped in a vehicle on Browns Bridge Road (Hwy. 369) in north Forsyth on Friday, but Division Chief Jason Shivers said he was not aware of any serious injuries that came from the incident.
Fire crews also did not respond to any major fires.
“It was a very safe and quiet stretch of holiday days,” Shivers said, “at least as far as fire department response goes.”
