UPDATE - Old Atlanta Road has reopened following the gas leak.

SOUTH FORSYTH – Old Atlanta Road is closed between the intersections of Nichols Road and Windermere Parkway due to a gas main line break the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said around 11 a.m.

“The gas company has been notified and is on their way and should be on scene shortly,” said Cpl. Pete Sabella, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office. “Once they arrive on scene, we will have a better estimate as to length of road close and repair.”

Deputies are diverting traffic down Nichols Road and Windermere Parkway to Highway 20.
