Seniors who are interested in participating in the Youth Scholarship and Washington Youth Tour programs through Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation can submit their applications.

Cumming-based Sawnee EMC welcomes children of the company’s members to apply for the Youth Scholarship program, a beneficiary of its Operation RoundUp, where customers’ bills are rounded up to the next dollar to save money for scholarships.

Juniors and seniors can apply for the Washington Youth Tour, a week-long trip to Washington, D.C., where students have the opportunity to see the U.S. Capitol and other major monuments and museums in the area.

“It is such a privilege for Sawnee EMC to be able to assist these students in furthering their education,” said Cindy Badgett, a spokeswoman for Sawnee EMC.

Applicants must be 16 years old by June 1, 2015.

Two students will be chosen for the trip.

Students for the Washington trip cannot be family members of Sawnee EMC employees or Board of Directors.

The deadline for this application is by 5 p.m. on Feb. 10.
